VoIP Phone System

System Requirements

What do you need for a VoIP phone system to work?

Connectivity

An internet based phone system requires a decent broadband connection in order to return good call quality. Ideally a dedicated broadband line should be used to handle phone data traffic.

Lines with low contention ratios or, better still, guaranteed download and upload speeds are best, although this is dependent upon the amount of expected traffic.

For larger companies and multi-site operations the use of a combination of MPLS, Ethernet, VPNs and other connectivity will be required to fulfil an end-to-end solution.

Some VoIP phone systems can be connected to standard digital lines (ISDN2/ISDN30) which alleviates the need for a dedicated broadband connection.

Hardware

An IP PBX system to connect to the standard phone system via the internet (or digital lines). An IP phone for each extension is also required which will connect to the IP PBX via a switch. It is also possible to use standard phones via the use of an adaptor but these will not usually offer the full funtionality of IP phones.

A hosted VoIP solution alleviates the need for system hardware and only requires handsets to be plugged into your router/switch.

SIP Trunk

A SIP Trunk gives you a number to use which will be directed to your phone system. You can have as many different numbers as you like, with no geographical limitations.

We can offer all of the above and ensure that your system arrives pre-programmed to be plug and play right out of the box. Our aim is to make it as simple as possible for small and medium sized businesses to get a new VoIP phone system and start saving money.

For larger businesses we tailor bespoke solutions which can connect multiple offices, span counties and even countries.
